Balboa Park

Day 261: June 16, 2025 – San Diego, California

Balboa Park is a San Diego gem. At 1,200 acres, it’s bigger than many cities. It could take months to see its 19 gardens, 18 museums, theater, zoo, recreation center and restaurants. Here are a few shots from an afternoon of exploring.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos. Brought back memories of revisiting the zoo in the ’00s, and playing in the park wilds in the ’50s. I still have the scars from falling on palm fronds.

I have fond memories of us in San Diego with Jane Anne and her family. Funny I was coming home from Reno just last week and had a stop in SD and was thinking just of that trip !!!!! I still have a picture of you letting the kids bury you in the sand at the beach. Good memories with you and Jane Anne.

Now you are in my neck of the woods. Grew up a few miles outside San Diego… In Santee. How long are you docked in San Diego? Enjoy!!!
      Balboa Park is the Best!!!

      1. Debbie – we were in San Diego for just a couple days. I was considering going to Santee because it’s supposedly a good birding spot, but ran out of time. We are about to arrive in SF today.

    2. Yes! I have a whole bunch of pictures from that. And yes I especially love the one of me buried in the sand…those were the days
