Day 386: October 21, 2025 – At Sea, between Palau & Indonesia
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu holiday. Many of our crew members are from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and other Asian countries where it is widely celebrated. Our shipmate Beena (along with her team of volunteers) organized a spectacular celebration of the day for the Odyssey community.

After prayers, singing, and sweets, there was dancing. LOTS of dancing. Staff, residents and crew, including our captain in white kurta below, partied into the night.

What fun-loving shipmates you have! Soon the welcome groups on arrival will be coming to see YOU the passengers do the entertainment and not be the audience. You can call yourselves International Athenas. I was looking for you in the dance line.
love these on the ship celebrations of countries and cultures.
That was amazing. I have learned a great deal about the festival over the past few weeks. I’m glad the crew was encouraged to participate. They are a joy.
Me too!
I’m not sure why I didn’t receive your last emails.. but I am very relieved.
