Koh Samui Cultural Blitz

Day 649 (Month 21): July 11, 2026 – Koh Samui, Thailand

The island of Koh Samui is rich in Thai, Chinese and Buddhist artistry. We spent a day on a jeep tour doing a cultural blitz of the island.

Reclining Buddha, symbolizing peace and the end of suffering

One of the most unusual features in the Wat Khunaram temple is a mummified monk. It contains the preserved body of Luang Pho Daeng, a monk who died in 1973 while meditating in a lotus position.

I’m sure doing it in person was better, but those great photos make me feel like I did the tour with you! Thanks!
