Day 486: January 29, 2026 – Foa Island, Tonga (off ship excursion)
It’s been over a year since I’ve been off the ship (other than a hospital stay in Japan). So when I had an opportunity to join a group of shipmates heading to the remote Tongan island of Foa for a week I decided to go for the change of pace. We boarded a small plane (about 20 people) which took us over some spectacular (mostly uninhabited) islands in the south Pacific.

Views from the plane: the colors were exquisite – turquoise, green and deep blue.

I hope to do some birding, hiking, and if I get really brave, snorkeling.

Thank you for taking us along! Just beautiful!
I can picture you smiling with your clever title of this article! You are indeed one lucky girl to be able to vacation from a 3 year vacation!!! No one deserves it more, is more deserving, and could be as productive on a vacation as you.
These pictures are magical.
