We’re still a few days away from sailing, but yesterday we got the green light to start boarding, check into our cabins, meet the crew and our fellow shipmates. There were lots of happy faces and incredulous “it’s really happening!” over dinner conversation.
And best of all, we got to unpack. I can’t begin to tell you how satisfying it was to unpack the suitcases I’ve lived in for 10 months, knowing that I won’t have to cram it all back in a few days later!
Our crew (who are fabulous!) welcomed us on board with wine and mimosas.
Get to know some of my fellow shipmates. You’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the coming years!
We couldn’t stay overnight just yet, so had to go back to our land-based lodgings at the end of the day. I briefly entertained thoughts of locking myself in my cabin and refusing to leave…
