The Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia have officially vaulted into my Top 5 Best Travel Experiences. Absolutely stunning scenery. The largest salt flats in the world, they are roughly equal to the size of Connecticut. The tour I took spent an entire day there, driving on them for hours, from early morning until sunset.
Most parts of the flats were dry, but a few areas were still wet from the rainy season, showing gorgeous reflections of the clouds. The water was shallow enough to walk on (at most an inch or two) but looked like an ocean.

Absolutely incredible !!! I can’t wait to look at these pictures on a large screen !!!!!
The link you included in post says there’s a salt hotel. Are you staying there?
No, unfortunately not, though I was hoping to. There were no rooms available for the days I was there, and the timeline just wasn’t working with the tour. But I did have lunch there with our tour group.
Stunning pictures. You look so happy!
Thanks Joanne. It’s easy to be happy when you’re in such a stunningly beautiful place.
I second Judy! Great photos, wish I was there!
I would love to have you both here with me!
Awesome landscape, and your photos are glorious, as always.
Thanks Judy.
