Cinco De Mayo in Mexico

Day 219: May 5, 2025 – Chiapas, Mexico

We crossed the border from Guatemala into Mexico just in time for Cinco de Mayo. A group of colorful schoolchildren dancers welcomed us at the port.

The town of Chiapas itself did not have much going on, but the port facility was excellent: very green, spotless, and included a swimming pool just for us cruisers (not open to the public).

That could be a travel category/ theme: spending a national holiday in the country where it’s celebrated.

    1. Hmmm…good idea

    1. I did not get the impression that this was a cruise ship hot spot.
