Eat More Art

This endless holding pattern we’ve been in, on call in Belfast for cruise boarding, has been sucking all the joy out of travel for me, so I thought a change of scenery might improve my mood. The beauty of being in Europe is that you can fly to another country for under $100, so I headed down to Málaga, Spain for a few days.

At the BrunchIt outdoor cafe, this elegantly designed avocado toast immediately put a smile on my face. The servers wear “Eat More Art” t-shirts, but it just seemed wrong to stick a fork into this beauty.

Oh that looks amazing!! That’d cheer me up!

  2. Somehow I lost my connection to your blog. I catch up thru Facebook and always appreciate your current adventures. You always make the best of your opportunities and I admire you. Hopefully you will launch soon.

    1. Happy to know you are still here, Mary. Unfortunately, Facebook keeps deleting my posts – it claims I am violating community standards. I have no clue why. So sometimes you’ll see them, sometimes not. Best way is to go directly to basiak.blog.

That IS a beautiful plate! Color, texture and shape are all on point, right down to the flower. 😍

    1. Jane Anne, I knew you of all people would appreciate it. It looks like something that should have appeared in those Western Trimming mini-magazines we used to put out!

  5. That is beautiful food art, for sure. And Bless your heart…you are an amazing trooper!!!

I see pomegranates, but best off all that lemon slice looks good.

    1. Those pomegranates really added a nice dash of color, didn’t they.

Basia you are really getting to know Belfast!

    1. More than I ever wanted to know it! But I have to say, there are some very nice people here (both the locals and my shipmates) who have made our stay enjoyable.

Glad you left the ship area for awhile, a mental pick me up
    was needed, I’m sure!

There is avocado toast and then there is this. Do I see an edible nasturtium flower in the center?

    1. Right?! Is that what that flower is, a nasturtium? I thought it was a small pansy, but I think you’re right. As to whether it’s edible…well I went ahead and ate it, so I’ll let you know how edible it is!

  11. What a lovely work of art!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

    1. It really was a work of art. I stared at it for a long time before I dug into it.
