I’m getting a bit behind in my postings — this one is from a few weeks ago, in Cali, Colombia.
We were driving back from a birding tour when my guide asked if I wanted to try some obleas, a Colombian dessert consisting of two thin wafers filled with sweets (caramelized milk, whipped cream, chocolate, cheese, etc). We stopped at this roadside booth, run by a woman and three children (her two grandsons and a niece, I believe). The children were as sweet as the obleas, arguing over who got to wait on the next customer. They are the faces of Colombia.
