Day 267: June 22, 2025 – San Francisco, California
A San Francisco port stop gave many of us the opportunity to meet up with friends and family. My sister Eva and brother-in-law Mike drove down from Nevada for the day, joining my niece Chrissy (who lives in SF) and her beau Nick. It was fun giving them a tour of the ship, along with encouragement (hint hint) to join me on the journey someday.

I share my Dunkin’ obsession with my sister (she once did a 500-mile round trip from San Jose to Bakersfield for a Dunkin’ fix), but in the absence of a nearby Dunkin’, we had to settle for Trish’s Donuts on Pier 39. It wasn’t in the same league as DD but would do in a pinch.

I have been craving sourdough bread on board, and SF was the place to satisfy that craving. The sourdough at the famous Boudin Bakery was as good as I remember it.

Sail Away With Me!
Come Sail Away
I’m sailing away
Set an open course for the Virgin Sea
‘Cause I’ve got to be free
Free to face the life that’s ahead of me
On board I’m the captain
So climb aboard
We’ll search for tomorrow
On every shore
Yes!
