Getting My Sea Legs

Day 2: October 4, 2024 – At Sea, between Belfast, Northern Ireland and Brest, France

We are definitely not on land anymore!

I’m awakened around 5 AM by a little wobblyness that’s threatening to make me queasy. I quickly slip on my wrist sea bands, kept in the night stand right next to my bed, in anticipation of just this moment. The ship wobblyness continues, but no sickness so far.

Navigating the breakfast room with a cup of coffee in hand is a bit of a challenge. Most of us are walking around like we’re a bit tipsy. As is remembering to set my clocks forward an hour as we move into a new time zone. Turns out our phones don’t automatically adjust themselves while out at sea.

But we have a gorgeous sunrise, and we are at sea. And it feels like home.

Spectacular! Enjoy, enjoy. Maybe, you’ll even change your opinion about the month of October 🙂

    1. What’s wrong with the month of October?

      1. October seemed to be when a lot of nasty things happen to me. Mamusia admitted to hospital. I had a bike accident and broke my arm. Two of my worst heartbreaks happened in October. I was starting to dread October every time it was approaching. But Donna reminded me that it’s also her birthday month, so it’s not all bad…

    2. Ha ha ha! That’s funny you remember that conversation. Well there is still plenty of time for October to do its thing!
