Hummingbirds were everywhere at the Refugio Paz De Las Aves (Bird Refuge) in Ecuador. Sometimes they flew so close to my head it felt like they were buzz-bombing me!

I love this one’s brilliant turquoise tail.

Hummmmmm
Love it! You’re still the queen of one-word comments, Bev!
To be able to see such a variety of Humming Birds is truly paradise! I love the Violet-tailed Sylph, but the white-booted Racket Tails win “Best of Show”
Oooh I love that title, Best of Show. That’s perfect for them.
Wow. We see a lot of hummingbirds in San Diego, but nothing close to that variety. Great shots!
Thanks, glad you are enjoying them.
The Andean Emerald, the Violet-tailed Sylph, the Purple-bibbed Whitetip, and the White-booted Racket tail are my faves. Your photos are phenomenal as always! I’m wanting to book a trip!!
I highly recommend a trip, Elaine – you would absolutely love it here.
I do love the White-Booted Racket-Tails. Amazing photos.
Those booties are adorable, aren’t they? They remind me of what majorettes wear in parades.
