Ice Follies

After working up some serious sweat on the ropes/zipline course in Iguazu, we headed to an Ice Bar for a chilldown. What’s an Ice Bar? It’s a room kept at -10°C (14°F) where everything is made of ice, including an open bar where you can get as much alcohol as you can drink in 30 minutes.

The bar serves cocktails in ice cube glasses. My Morango Cream cocktail hit the spot; I managed to put down two of them. One of us (who shall remain nameless) topped out at 5 drinks. (Hmmmm. This sounds oddly similar to the ropes/ziplining proficiency levels in my previous post. I seem to be an underachiever in both drinking and zipping…)

Yes, I know it looks like Michelle and I are pants-less at the ice bar. We came here straight from the 85-degree heat of the zipline ropes park, where shorts were more appropriate. Beverly, on the other hand, barely broke a sweat at the ropes course in spite of her long pants.

What happens in an Ice Bar, stays in the Ice Bar

(Donna – does this remind you of our ice follies in Montreal?)
