I love Niagara Falls; I’ve seen it at least a dozen times. But I have to say, it pales next to Iguazu Falls, which straddles the border between Argentina and Brazil. “Iguazu” means “great water” and it lives up to its name. It’s 3 times the size of Niagara Falls, and 80 meters high (compared to Niagara’s 57 meters). Its collection of 275 waterfalls extend for 1.7 miles. An hour-long trail gives you a different view around every corner, each one more magnificent than the last.
Just like Niagara Falls, you can take a boat ride that gets you underneath the falls, where you are guaranteed to get soaked. Our guides saw us off with instructions to “enjoy your shower!”
We tried to keep dry with rain ponchos (thanks Beverly!) but were told that even with rain gear we should expect to get soaked. And did we ever!
Coming up next: the view from the Brazilian side.

I’m glad you made it to the falls! Did you get to walk out on the catwalks that go over the river and out to some of the islands very near the edge of the precipice? Did you see the signs that said not to carry your kids piggy back? Hilarious.
Magnificent views of nature.
Magnificent!!!!! AND I can’t believe you got in a boat and did that !!!!!
What an awe-inspiring day! The three amigas strike again!
