Day 158: March 5, 2025 – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

We have 5 days in Rio de Janeiro, so plenty of time to take in all the highlights: the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Christ the Redeemer statue, and spectacular views from Dona Marta viewpoint.

Chilled coconut water (Coco Gelado) hit the spot on a scorching hot day on the beach.

The iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue stands 98 feet tall on the peak of a 2,300 ft tall Corcovado Mountain. It was voted one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. (I’ve now seen 4 of the 7 new wonders and hope to see the other 3 on this journey).
