Royal Poinciana

Day 398: November 2, 2025 – Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

Sometimes something appears in front of me that takes my breath away. In our first port in Australia, it was this stunning Royal Poinciana tree at the Darwin Botanic Gardens. Also known as flame tree or flamboyant tree, the fiery orange-red flowers were at peak bloom.

  1. That is definitely something to take your breath away! So many exotic things you have seen and allowed us to see. Thank you!
I some how got deleted from your blog.. is there anyway to include me again? I have to go to your last post and go from there…
Just curious if that was an option.
    Thanks for the journey!

    1. Debbie – I just checked my mailing list again, and you are still on the list, at this address: whatyouwantphoto@hotmail.com.

I am not sure why you are not getting the notifications. Is it possible they are going directly to your spam or trash folder?

I LOVE Royal Poinciana Trees! They were prolific in South Florida. https://photos.app.goo.gl/GraUZg3sjbU1Hpav7

I can see why it would take your breath away. It’s stunning. Will you be returning to Australia at a later date too?

    1. Yes. We’ll be stopping in Cairns for a couple days, then spend several months in various Pacific islands, then return to Australia in February.
