The Baths

Day 61: December 2, 2024 – Tortola, British Virgin Islands

The Baths National Park in the British Virgin Islands is classic Caribbean beauty. A group of us took a 30-minute ferry from our ship in Tortola, then hiked down a pretty trail to the rock pools and beach.

I’m not very comfortable in the water so I’m usually hesitant to step in, but even I could not resist these warm, clear waters and soft golden sand.

These crazy hoverflies were buzzing along the trail, looking like little UFOs. (It’s not so easy to capture a flying fly, I found!)

I was admiring the bling on this fellow working at the ferry dock and asked if I could take his picture. He agreed and shouted to his mates, “Look, I’m the best, she wants my picture!” He represents the British Virgin Islands in the Faces of the World gallery.
