Tying The Knot

Day 215: May 1, 2025 – At sea, between Costa Rica & El Salvador

“Tying the knot” and “taking the plunge” take on a literal meeting when you wed on a cruise ship. This week we had our first-ever nuptials on board. Gian and Angie were strangers when they first met on the Odyssey, back in Belfast when we were waiting to launch. (I’ve written about them previously here.)

This week they “tied the knot” (literally), with our captain officiating the ceremony.

Tying the knot

Our onboard dance team gave a rousing performance.

A flashmob of shipmates followed the couple’s dance.

Taking the plunge: bride, groom, captain, and shipmates all ended up in the pool.

As befits this fairy tale wedding, the evening ended with a perfect sunset.
