Bali Beach Cleanup

Day 577: April 30, 2026 – Bali, Indonesia

At the start of this journey, while waiting for the Odyssey to be ready, a small group of us, calling ourselves the Trashy Sailors, organized a trash pick-up in the Belfast shipyard. We had the opportunity to continue this work at a port in Indonesia. Our group of 45, in conjunction with Odyssey’s volunteer group Global Harmony, spent a morning cleaning up Kelan Beach in Bali. Our haul included lots of plastic bottles, styrofoam, shoes, tires, and fishing nets. The goal was to leave our destination just a little bit cleaner than we found it.

Good for you all! I’m big on trash cleanups and have organized many.

    1. I’m hoping we can do more of them as we sail along.
