Day 506 (Month 17): February 18, 2026 – Sydney, Australia
My idea of a perfect day: meandering through a labyrinth botanical garden, forest-bathing in the greenery, stopping to admire the pops of blooming colors, spotting a lifer or five. The Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney was all that. I walked almost 12 miles from the ship to the garden and back, pleasantly exhausted after a day well spent.

This guy’s hairdo made me laugh out loud.

I was heading back to the pier when the guard at a security gate called out to me:
“Nice camera!”
Thanks, I use it for birds, I said.
“I’m a bird, take my picture!”
So I did. He is in the running for the face of Australia in the Faces of the World gallery, although we still have a lot of Australia left to explore.

Flora and Fauna combo and all gorgeous . But let me understand you walked 12 miles in one day! That is amazing.
Yes, I sure did! I typically walk 6-8 miles in a port, so this was almost double my usual routine. Felt good though.
I am so impressed.

I always think of you when I’m posting flower pictures, Shannon!
