Kiwis (that’s what New Zealanders call themselves) seem to love a clever turn of phrase.
This sign caught the eye of many of us sailors; it became a staple on our blogs and Facebook posts. I’m told it’s a euphemism for “Don’t Pee Here.” Some took it as an order, others as a challenge. (And if you want to learn more about the history of public urination, this link will tell you everything you need to know.)

Hint for this one: Dunners = Dunedin, Tip = rubbish dump. (Thanks for the translation, Katrina!)

Great sculptures! Are they cement or wood?
If you’re referring to the two top ones, they are carved from a eucalyptus tree that fell during a storm. I forgot to add in the caption that they are called the Bee Keeper. It was next to some bee hives.
These are awesome! I never met a pun I didn’t like… The “groaners” are the best! The louder the groan, the better the pun! 😎
I can hear you groan all the way across the Tasman Sea, Jane Anne!
