Day 665: July 27, 2026 – At sea, between Thailand and Singapore
Our beloved eldest resident Proletta celebrated her 100th birthday on board this week with her son Ben and 100 of her closest shipmates. (Last year, we celebrated her 99th birthday on the ship as well.) A birthday dinner included three cakes and a serenade by crew.

After dinner, resident Kit conducted an interview with Proletta, exploring her life and memories over the last century and answering questions from the audience. It was a spellbinding event attended by over 100 people and culminated in a standing ovation.

The Polish birthday greeting is Sto Lat which translates to [May You Live] 100 Years. But she’s already been there, done that, so I wasn’t sure what the appropriate greeting would be in this situation. Mr. Google advised me it’s Sto Lat To Za Mało which means 100 Years Is Not Enough, so I went with that! We are already making plans for her 101st birthday, when the Odyssey is scheduled to be in the Mediterranean.
